Welcome to GoDanville2050, the Danville Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) long-range transportation plan. The plan guides improvements to roads, public transit, walking, biking and freight in Danville and nearby parts of Pittsylvania County through 2050. It helps set regional priorities and supports efforts to secure state and federal transportation funding.

The MPO Board adopted an interim version of the plan on August 19, 2026. Work is continuing to refine the project lists and add detail to the recommendations before an updated plan returns to the Board later this year.

Help Choose Our Region’s Future Transportation Projects

As part of this work, we’re asking for your help deciding which future improvements should be prioritized. Take our survey to review 15 project concepts and choose up to five priorities. These concepts are at different stages of planning, with details such as design, cost and timing still being worked out. You can also suggest missing projects and tell us about other transportation needs in your community. Your feedback will help shape the updated plan’s recommendations.
